What Model Is My TrailMaster Go-Kart?
Use the chassis size, starting system, seats, tires, brakes, reverse equipment, bodywork and fuel system to identify your TrailMaster go-kart before ordering parts.
Decals are helpful, but they are not enough on a used or modified machine. Work through this guide from the complete kart down to the individual component.
Do Not Identify the Kart from Its Engine Number
The number stamped or printed on the engine is not the go-kart VIN. Multiple TrailMaster models use the same engine family, and machines that look similar can use different fuel, electrical, brake and drivetrain components.
Identify the complete machine first. Then use the correct parts breakdown to identify the component.
Step 1: choose the chassis family
Which Size and Shape Looks Like Your Kart?
Mini Family
The smallest youth chassis, normally with a compact bench or bucket-seat layout. Models include Mini XRS, Mini XRX and Mini XRX-R in standard and current Plus versions.
Identify a Mini modelMid Family
A youth-to-family chassis larger than the Mini but smaller than the adult 200/300 platform. Includes Mid XRS, Mid XRX, Mid XRX-R and Blazer 200R.
Identify a Mid model150/200 Family
The full-size two-seat platform. Model names include XRS, XRX and Blazer, with carbureted and EFI versions depending on model and production period.
Identify a 150 or 200300 Family
A full-size liquid-cooled kart. The radiator, silver rear radiator cover and two separate rear axles help distinguish it from solid-axle 200 models.

Where Is the TrailMaster Go-Kart Serial Number?
Look behind the driver's seat for a metal identification plate riveted to a frame bar. Some models also have a plastic identification sticker elsewhere on the roll cage. Current Mini, Mid, 200 and 300 families use this same general location.
The serial number alone does not always identify the exact model or production year. GoKartMasters can submit it to TrailMaster when additional identification is necessary.
Model decals are normally located on the sides of the cockpit. Photograph both the plate and the decals, but verify the physical equipment because decals and body parts may have been replaced.

Mini XRS+, Mini XRX+ or Mini XRX-R+?

Plus Mini versus older standard Mini
The easiest difference on XRX and XRX-R models is the rear tire and brake system:
- Plus XRX and XRX-R: 16-inch rear tires, wider rear axle and a hydraulic brake caliper with a master cylinder.
- Standard XRX and XRX-R: smaller 13-inch rear tires and a cable-operated caliper.
- Important: the Plus brake is still operated by a cable at the pedal. The cable pulls the hydraulic master cylinder instead of pulling the caliper directly.
Older Mini XRS: The discontinued standard Mini XRS looks similar to the Mini XRS+ and retains pull start, no reverse, no headlights, a bench seat and lap belt. Its direct cable-operated brake caliper is the key mechanical distinction.
TrailMaster Mid identification
Mid XRS, Mid XRX, Mid XRX-R or Blazer 200R?
Mid XRS
Discontinued. Pull start, bench seat and no reverse. This is the simplest Mid configuration.
Mid XRX
Bucket seats and electric start, without a reverse shifter or reverse gearbox.
Mid XRX-R
The Mid XRX platform with a floor shifter and reverse gearbox.
Blazer 200R
The Mid XRX-R chassis with a hood, front bumper, larger fenders and side-by-side-style bodywork.
Older Mid and Blazer details
- Older machines may have seats with separate headrests.
- Some older machines use three-point restraints instead of the current harness configuration.
- Some very old Blazer 200 models were built without reverse. Do not assume every Blazer has a reverse gearbox.
Full-size identification
Identify a 150, 200, 200E or Blazer
Do not guess 150 versus 200 from the engine shape
Decals, seat style and the frame identification number are the safest starting points for separating older 150 XRS/XRX machines from later 200 models. Blazer 150/150X and Blazer 200X machines should also be checked by decals and frame identification.
Engine, exhaust, dashboard and bodywork may have been repaired or replaced. When the model remains uncertain, send complete-machine photographs rather than ordering from appearance alone.
Carbureted 200
Look for a traditional carburetor and mechanical fuel-system components at the engine.
Current carbureted full-size production centers on the 200 XRS. A carbureted 200 XRX existed previously but has been discontinued.
EFI 200E
EFI machines use an ECU, throttle body, fuel injector, additional wiring and an oxygen sensor instead of a carburetor.
The easiest photographs are the area behind the driver's seat, where the ECU may be mounted, and the top of the engine behind the air-filter box.
200 XRS versus current 200E XRX
The current 200E XRX is an EFI-only upgrade package. Look for:
- Full dashboard with speedometer
- Sport steering wheel
- Aluminum wheels
- Upper light bar
- Turn signals
- Side mirrors
Both the XRS and XRX versions have adjustable steering. The trim equipment distinguishes XRX; adjustable steering alone does not.
Blazer 200X
Use the model decals first, then confirm that the engine uses a carburetor rather than an EFI ECU.
Blazer 200EX
The decals should identify the EX. Confirm EFI by locating the ECU and other electronic fuel-injection components.
TrailMaster 300 identification
How to Recognize the 300 Family
Start with the decals, then inspect the rear of the kart. The 300 family uses a liquid-cooling system with a radiator. From the back, look for the silver radiator cover and two separate rear axles rather than the solid live axle used by the 200 platform.

300 XRS versus 300 XRX
Use the model decals and complete trim package to separate XRS from XRX. If decals are missing or the kart has been modified, send photographs of both sides, the dashboard and the complete rear assembly before ordering model-specific parts.

Graphics, seat styles and some small production details can change. A model name establishes the parts family; the actual component still needs to be compared before installation.
Parts compatibility
Similar Does Not Always Mean Interchangeable
- Many TrailMaster parts are shared across models, but never assume compatibility from appearance alone.
- Older discontinued TrailMaster models remain well supported, and newer replacements are often backward-compatible.
- A 150 and 200 chassis may share frame components while engine, electrical, fuel and drivetrain parts differ.
- EFI and carbureted fuel-system components are not interchangeable.
- XRS and XRX models may share core mechanical parts while using different dashboards, lights, wheels, mirrors and trim.

Confirm Every Replacement Part Before Installation
Compare the new part with the original before installing it. Check dimensions, mounting points, orientation, electrical connectors and printed part numbers.
Once a part is installed, it is considered used and cannot be returned. Electrical and performance parts are not returnable.
