What to Know Before Buying a Go-Kart Online

TrailMaster go-karts are real powersports machines, not maintenance-free toys. They arrive mostly assembled, but the owner is responsible for final assembly, inspection, break-in service and routine maintenance.

Choose by fit

Age alone is not enough. Consider pedal reach, driver experience, maturity, passenger plans and riding terrain.

Plan for assembly

Most machines arrive about 80 percent assembled. A family with basic mechanical ability and ordinary metric tools can usually complete the work.

Expect maintenance

The first service is required at five hours. Routine service is generally needed around every 20 hours or once a year, whichever comes first.

Understand freight

A third-party carrier delivers the crated machine. The customer must inspect it, document concerns and sign the bill of lading.

How the Online Ordering Process Works

1. Select the machine

Choose the exact model and list acceptable color choices. Read the complete product description, specifications and ownership notes.

2. Check out securely

Pay through the website using PayPal, a major credit or debit card, or apply for PayPal Credit. Sales tax is calculated wherever legally required.

3. Payment is verified

Bank processing and payment verification commonly take up to 48 hours before funds are released and the order can move forward.

4. Availability is confirmed

TrailMaster dealers share warehouse inventory, which makes exact real-time counts difficult. We confirm availability when the drop-ship order is processed.

5. Freight is arranged

The machine ships in a metal crate through an independent freight carrier. Tracking and carrier information are provided as they become available.

6. Delivery is scheduled

The local terminal should call to schedule. An adult must be present to inspect, document and sign for the shipment.

Typical timing: Most complete machines arrive approximately 10-14 days after the initial order. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Weather, holidays, payment review, warehouse availability and third-party freight conditions can cause delays.

Inventory, Colors and Substitutions

Online TrailMaster dealers draw from the same warehouse supply. A machine can sell out between checkout and the time a drop-ship order is placed, especially during busy seasons.

  • List a second color only if you are genuinely willing to receive it.
  • Your second listed color may be used when the first is unavailable.
  • We will not send a different model or a color that was not included on the order without customer approval.
  • Graphics and minor production details may change while the machine remains the same model.

What Freight Delivery Includes

GoKartMasters pays for residential delivery, a delivery appointment, liftgate service and a required signature on qualifying complete-machine orders. Delivery is officially to the end of the customer's driveway.

Appointment:
The local terminal is expected to call before delivery.
Liftgate:
The driver should lower the crate from the trailer.
Pallet jack:
The driver unloads the crate and may move it to a convenient location at their discretion.
Inspection:
The customer must photograph and document concerns before signing.

Freight is performed by an independent company, so GoKartMasters cannot control every terminal or driver. Most deliveries follow the expected process. In rare cases, a carrier may miss an appointment or fail to provide the service correctly. Customers may insist on the liftgate service included with the order.

Inspect Before You Sign

Most crates receive cosmetic damage to the cardboard or metal during freight handling. Normally, accept the shipment while documenting every concern on the bill of lading.

  1. Photograph the front, back, left, right, top and inside of the crate. Photograph the unloading process if it looks rough.
  2. Write every concerning mark or damaged area on the bill of lading.
  3. Have the driver sign or initial beside the damage notation.
  4. Sign only after the written documentation is complete.
  5. Report damage within two weeks, preferably on delivery day.

Refuse delivery when the wrong model arrives, the engine is clearly punctured or seriously damaged, oil is leaking everywhere, or the lower cockpit frame has catastrophic damage.

After delivery

Assembly and First Setup

The engine, steering, brakes and electrical system are generally installed at the factory. Depending on the model, the customer installs items such as the roll cage, fuel tank, tires, seats, steering wheel and battery. Some models also require a spindle to be attached to the A-arm.

Skill level

Basic reading, following directions and turning a wrench. Professional assembly is not required, but the machine must be assembled and inspected correctly.

Time

Plan around two hours for most families. Two experienced adults with the correct tools can often finish in less than an hour.

Extra help

A second adult is useful for aligning the roll cage and lifting the kart onto a jack. Hire a qualified mechanic if you are not comfortable with powersports assembly.

Common tools: metric socket set through 24 mm, ratchet or impact, screwdrivers, needle-nose pliers, rubber mallet, knife or cutters, low-pressure tire gauge and air compressor.

Engine oil: every machine must be checked before its first start. TrailMaster machines normally arrive with some engine oil but often need to be topped off. Use synthetic 10W-30 and rest the dipstick on the threads when checking. Never add engine oil to the gearbox.

Common questions

Online Go-Kart Ordering FAQs

Is it safe to buy a go-kart online?

Yes, when the seller clearly explains the model, freight process, assembly responsibilities, warranty and long-term parts support. GoKartMasters specializes in online TrailMaster sales and owner support.

Is shipping really included?

Complete go-karts, mini bikes and dirt bikes include shipping to qualifying lower-48 residential addresses. Alaska and Hawaii customers may arrange freight forwarding. Parts can ship to all states. UTV and golf-cart delivery requires a separate car-hauler quote when offered.

Does GoKartMasters have a showroom or customer pickup?

No. GoKartMasters operates online from Lennox, South Dakota. We do not offer a public showroom, test rides or customer pickup.

Can GoKartMasters price match another dealer?

Ask us. We can often price match, but compare the final checkout total first. Some advertised prices increase through mandatory in-cart freight, liftgate, handling or setup fees.

What if my first color choice sells out?

We may use the second color specifically listed on the order. We will not send an unapproved model or a color that was not selected without contacting the customer.

Can I return the go-kart if I change my mind?

No. Complete machines are not returnable. Choose carefully before ordering and contact us with model or sizing questions before checkout.

Is assembly difficult?

Most families with basic mechanical ability can complete it in about two hours using common metric tools. Two adults make roll-cage alignment and lifting easier.

What happens if the machine has a problem?

Begin support or a warranty claim in writing. Qualifying manufacturing defects and covered shipping damage are handled under the current Master Warranty. Labor, routine maintenance, normal wear, misuse and unrelated damage are not covered.

Choose Carefully, Then Order With Confidence

Compare the models, read the policies and contact us before checkout if anything is unclear.
