TrailMaster Go-Kart Unboxing and Parts Inventory Guide
Before you cut every zip tie and begin assembling your new TrailMaster, photograph the shipment, inspect for concealed damage and locate every part. A few minutes of careful inventory can prevent hours of confusion later.
Do not throw away the crate or packaging until the kart is completely assembled.
Before cutting the straps
Photograph the Unopened Shipment
Freight damage is easiest to understand when there is a clear record of how the shipment looked before anything was removed. Take more pictures than you think you need.
Photograph every side
- Front and back
- Left and right sides
- Top of the crate
- Shipping labels and numbers
Record every concern
- Bent crate sections
- Torn cardboard
- Loose parts
- Oil or fluid
- Areas where the crate contacted the kart
Keep a visual inventory
Photograph every loose part and hardware package as you remove it. Customers sometimes discover that a supposedly missing part was visible in an earlier photograph.
Work slowly and deliberately
Open the Crate Without Damaging the Kart
1. Prepare the work area
Choose a flat, well-lit area with enough room to lay out the roll cage, wheels, seats, fuel tank and hardware without mixing pieces together.
2. Cut exposed packaging
Remove straps, cardboard, plastic wrap, foam and tape carefully. Keep knife blades pointed away from seats, wiring, fuel lines, body panels and painted surfaces.
3. Inspect as you go
Pause after each layer. Photograph newly exposed parts and look for bent tubing, torn seats, broken plastic, cracked lights, damaged mirrors or loose components.
Do not automatically cut every zip tie. Some zip ties secure parts, wiring or documents that need to remain in place. Identify what each tie is holding before cutting it.

Do not begin installing parts as soon as you find them. First, spread everything out, organize similar pieces together and compare the shipment with the model-specific welcome kit, assembly guide and packing list.

TrailMaster models are packaged differently and do not all include the same parts. Use the assembly guide and welcome kit for the exact model to determine what should be included.

Where to Find the Certificate of Origin and Keys
Certificate of origin
The certificate of origin is typically sealed in a zip-top plastic bag and zip-tied to the roll cage. Remove it carefully and store it with your permanent ownership records.
Keys
The keys are normally packed inside the hardware bag. Locate them before discarding any bags or packaging.
Do not leave the certificate of origin loose in the work area. It is an important ownership document and can be difficult to replace.

How to Report a Missing or Damaged Part
Before contacting GoKartMasters, inspect every zip tie, cardboard fold, foam block, hardware bag and area underneath the kart. Compare everything with the exact model’s instructions.

Include your name, order number, exact model, the name or description of the missing part and photographs of:
- The full kart and crate
- The area where the part should be installed
- All hardware and loose parts already located
- Any damaged component or packaging
Do not substitute random hardware or begin modifying the kart to compensate for a missing component. Let us help identify the correct part first.
Only after assembly is complete
When Can the Crate Be Discarded?
Keep the cardboard, metal crate, foam, plastic and hardware bags until the kart is fully assembled and you have confirmed that every component is present. Once assembly is complete, the packaging is no longer needed.
Cardboard and plastic
Dispose of or recycle these materials according to local requirements after completing the inventory and assembly.
Metal shipping crate
The metal crate can be taken to a scrap-metal recycler. Some local scrap companies may pick it up.
Save your documents
Keep the certificate of origin, manuals, welcome kit, maintenance log, spare keys and warranty information permanently.

Should I begin assembling parts as I remove them?
No. Remove, organize and inventory everything first. Beginning too early makes it harder to determine whether anything is missing.
Where are the shocks usually packed?
Loose shocks are commonly tucked behind the pedals or against the lower frame for protection during shipping.
Where is the hardware bag?
It is frequently zip-tied to the front suspension and may be covered by protective packaging.
Where are the keys?
The keys are normally inside the hardware bag.
How long should I keep the crate?
Keep all packaging until the kart is completely assembled. Afterward, it can be discarded or recycled.
