TrailMaster Go-Kart Cables

Find the Correct Control Cable for Your Exact TrailMaster Model

Shop genuine TrailMaster throttle cables, choke cables, brake cables, parking-brake cables and forward-neutral-reverse shifter cables. Cable length, end fittings, routing and adjustment vary by model, so identify the complete kart before ordering.

Do Not Order a Cable by Appearance Alone

Similar cables can have different lengths, housings, threaded adjusters and end fittings. Standard and Plus Minis may use different cables. A reverse-equipped kart can require more than one shifter cable. A 150 cable should not be substituted for a 200 cable merely because the chassis looks similar. Verify fitment before installation because an installed cable is considered used.

Which Control Is Not Working Correctly?

Identify the control first, then use the exact-model fitment in each product title and description as the final authority.

Accelerator Control

Throttle Cables

The throttle cable connects the accelerator pedal to the engine throttle. It must move freely and return completely to idle. A cable that is too tight can hold the throttle open, raise engine idle and make shifting difficult.

Cold-Start Control

Choke Cables

Dash-mounted choke cables are used on selected Mini and Mid models. On models with a spring-loaded dash plunger, the knob must be pulled and held during a cold start or it can retract into the dash.

Forward, Neutral and Reverse

Shifter and Reverse Cables

Reverse-equipped karts use one or more cables between the shifter and gearbox. Difficult engagement, one missing direction or popping out of gear often begins with cable adjustment rather than internal gearbox failure.

Mechanical Brake Control

Brake and Parking-Brake Cables

Some Minis use a cable to operate the rear brake directly, while Plus Minis use a cable to pull a hydraulic master cylinder. Other platforms can use a separate parking-brake cable or linkage. Hydraulic brake hoses are not control cables.

Mini Standard and Plus Models

Confirm Mini XRS, XRX or XRX-R and whether it is a Standard or Plus model. Standard and Plus brake-system cables are not automatically interchangeable. The reverse-equipped XRX-R also has reverse-control cables.
