Product Description
More Convenience for a Child's First Gas Go-Kart
The TrailMaster Mini XRX+ is designed for families who want electric start, remote shutoff, headlights and larger off-road tires without paying for a reverse-equipped model.
Best for: First-time go-kart families who value easy starting, adjustable rider fit and parent-controlled speed, but do not expect to use reverse often.
Choose another model if: You want the lowest-cost, simplest Mini—consider the Mini XRS+. If the kart will be used in tight trails, around buildings or anywhere backing up will be common, consider the Mini XRX-R+.
Is the Mini XRX+ the Right First Go-Kart?
Choose your available color and purchase options above, or ask our team to compare rider fit and features before you order.
Ask About Rider Fit or Model ChoiceWhy GoKartMasters Recommends the Mini XRX+
The Mini XRX+ occupies the practical middle of TrailMaster's Mini lineup. It adds the everyday convenience many families appreciate—electric start, a pull-start backup, remote shutoff, headlights, a horn and larger off-road tires—without adding the cost or drivetrain complexity of reverse.
For a first-time family, that combination is easy to understand and easy to live with. Children can focus on steering, braking and smooth starts while parents retain control over maximum speed and can shut off the engine remotely when necessary.
Will the Mini XRX+ Fit the Intended Rider?
GoKartMasters generally recommends the Mini XRX+ for children approximately 4–10 years old, but age alone does not determine safe fit. The rider must be able to sit fully against the seat, see clearly ahead, steer without overreaching and press the brake pedal firmly through its full travel.
The sliding seat and adjustable pedals provide more room to dial in pedal reach as a child grows. Always verify the actual rider's reach before allowing independent operation.
Likely a Good Fit When
- The rider can sit fully back while reaching the pedals.
- The brake can be pressed firmly without sliding forward in the seat.
- The rider can turn the steering wheel comfortably in both directions.
- The harness can be adjusted snugly over the rider.
- An adult can supervise in an open, controlled riding area.
Consider Another Size When
- The rider cannot fully press the brake from the proper seating position.
- The rider's knees or steering reach feel cramped at the largest adjustment.
- An adult expects to ride regularly; this is a youth-size chassis.
- The riding area requires frequent backing or very tight maneuvering.

What Is the Mini XRX+ Like to Own and Drive?
The automatic clutch keeps operation simple: the rider selects forward, uses the accelerator to move and presses the brake to stop. Electric start makes ordinary use convenient, while the pull starter provides a backup if the battery needs attention.
The governor allows an adult to limit throttle travel while a new rider learns smooth starts, steering and braking. As skill develops, speed can be increased gradually rather than all at once.
Compared with the Mini XRS+, the larger tires provide a more capable off-road setup for yards, fields, gravel and maintained trails. The Mini XRX+ remains a small youth kart, however; terrain, slopes and obstacles should be chosen according to the rider's experience and the limitations stated in the owner's manual.
How the Mini XRX Platform Changed
TrailMaster formerly manufactured a standard Mini XRX with a narrower axle, smaller knobby tires, cable-operated brakes and three-point seat belts. That pre-Plus version has not been manufactured since 2020.
The Mini XRX+ updated the platform with a wider axle, larger off-road tires, hydraulic braking and five-point harnesses. Beginning with the 2024 model year, the Mini line also moved from the earlier 5.5 HP engine to the current 7 HP engine.
GoKartMasters continues to support both legacy and current machines. Owners ordering engine, brake, axle, wheel or restraint parts should identify whether they have an original Mini XRX, an earlier 5.5 HP Mini XRX+ or the current 7 HP Mini XRX+.
Mini XRX+ Compared With Similar TrailMaster Mini Models
The best model depends less on which kart has the longest feature list and more on which features your family will actually use.
Mini XRS+
- Pull start
- Smaller knobby tires
- Hydraulic brake and five-point harnesses
- No reverse
Choose it for: The simplest, most budget-conscious entry into the Mini lineup.
Mini XRX+
- Electric start with pull backup
- Remote shutoff, headlights and horn
- Larger off-road tires
- No reverse
Choose it for: The best balance of convenience and straightforward operation when reverse is not important.
Mini XRX-R+
- Electric start with pull backup
- Remote shutoff, headlights and horn
- Larger off-road tires
- Forward and reverse
Choose it for: Tight trails, smaller riding areas or families who do not want to move the kart by hand when a child gets pointed the wrong way.
Freight Delivery and Final Assembly
The Mini XRX+ ships in a factory crate and requires final assembly, fluid checks, adjustment and a complete pre-ride inspection before operation. Freight procedures and included components can change, so review the current GoKartMasters ordering and delivery information before purchasing.
Inspect Before Signing
- Inspect all sides of the crate before the driver leaves.
- Photograph the crate, labels and any visible damage.
- Write visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing.
- Keep the crate and packaging until assembly and inspection are complete.
Typical Assembly Areas
Factory setup instructions include installation or final attachment of items such as suspension components, wheels, seats, cage sections, steering wheel, battery, flag and exhaust guard. The current unit must be assembled according to the instructions supplied with that shipment—not solely from an older manual or online video.

Maintenance and OEM Parts Support
The Mini XRX+ is a real gasoline-powered machine and requires routine inspection and maintenance. Owners should follow the current manual for engine oil, air filter, spark plug, chain, fasteners, brakes, tires, controls and battery care.
GoKartMasters stocks replacement parts for both the legacy 5.5 HP and current 7 HP Mini versions. Verify the production version before ordering engine, brake, axle, wheel or electrical components.

Common Questions About the Mini XRX+
Does the Mini XRX+ have reverse?
No. The Mini XRX+ is automatic forward only. Choose the Mini XRX-R+ if reverse will be useful in your riding area.
Does it have electric start?
Yes. It has keyed electric start and a pull starter that can be used as a backup.
Can a parent shut it off remotely?
Yes. The Mini XRX+ includes a wireless remote engine-shutoff system. It is an additional control, not a substitute for supervision or speed adjustment.
What age is the Mini XRX+ for?
GoKartMasters generally recommends it for children approximately 4–10 years old. Fit depends on the individual rider's pedal reach, steering reach, size, judgment and experience.
How fast does it go?
Top speed is approximately 13 mph. The adjustable governor allows an adult to reduce available throttle for a beginning rider.
What is the difference between the Mini XRS+ and Mini XRX+?
The XRX+ adds electric start, pull-start backup, remote shutoff, LED headlights, horn and larger off-road tires. Both Plus models use the wider axle, hydraulic rear brake and five-point harnesses.
Can an adult ride the Mini XRX+?
It is a youth-size chassis. An adult may not have safe pedal, steering or seating clearance even when a published load figure appears sufficient. Choose by actual rider fit, not weight capacity alone.
